For special events, we have a linear amplifier that will allow us to run FULL legal power (400 Watts) from the site.
About Us
The AMC Radio Club, where no form of communication is off-limits whether we are working 160M or just passing the time on Zello, our group consists of 11m operators that are thinking of taking the foundation exam to full calls with a great deal of knowledge and experience.
Our goal is simple in as much as we want to bring like-minded radio operators together to enjoy the hobby.
The AMC Radio Club is inclusive, not exclusive, and you can find our online membership form here,
A little history; the radio club originally was an 11m net on AM back in 2017. On a cold January evening, a call was given out, the net was born, and we went from strength to strength.
Shortly after, we had a Facebook page, then a messenger group.
Here we are now in 2021, with some of us having progressed through the RSGB licencing structure for amateur radio but still with an interest in 11m.
The AMC Radio Club want to promote radio and friendship. Whether your radio journey is just starting or if you are an established operator, we hope you enjoy the club as much as we do.
The formal objective of the club are to foster, in a spirit of comradeship, all branches of radio, electronics and amateur radio activities.
G8AMC is a collective of individuals who have interests in the amateur radio hobby, and we have an inclusive and very welcoming policy
We meet every Friday on Zoom.
We have our own club reflector YSF Reflector “G8AMC-Club”, via YSF Reflector TG 67570 on MMDVM repeaters and hotspots, or via DMR Brandmeister Talk Group 2349831.
We regularly run club competitions and meet ups
